Njulaina - Presiden Amerika Syarikat, Barack Obama ditetapkan
untuk melantik Ron Klain sebagai Ebola "tsar" diisi dengan menyelaras
usaha2 kerajaan dalam meme-rangi penyebaran virus di Amerika Syarikat, CNN
melaporkan.
Berita ini muncul kurang dari 24 jam selepas
presiden bertemu dengan pegawai-pegawai kesihatan terkemuka negara itu.
Berikutan mesyuarat itu, katanya kepada pemberita bahawa ia mungkin sesuai
untuk melantik orang yang tambahan untuk menyelaraskan tindak balas untuk Ebola
di Amerika Syarikat.
"Ia mungkin masuk akal bagi kita untuk
mempunyai satu orang . . . supaya selepas gelombang awal aktiviti ini, kita
boleh mempunyai proses yang lebih teratur hanya untuk memastikan bahawa kami
melintasi semua T dan menghiasi semua ini yang saya ke depan, "kata Obama.

US President Barack Obama is set to appoint Ron
Klain as the Ebola "czar" charged with coordinating government
efforts in fight against the spread of the virus in the United States, CNN
reports.
The news comes less than 24 hours after the
president met with the country’s top health officials. Following the meeting,
he told reporters that it might be appropriate to appoint an additional person
to coordinate the response to Ebola in the United States.
"It may make sense for us to have one
person ... so that after this initial surge of activity, we can have a more
regular process just to make sure that we're crossing all the T's and dotting
all the I's going forward," Obama said.
Klain adalah Kes presiden Holdings, syarikat induk
untuk kepentingan perniagaan dan dermawan dari bekas ketua AOL Steve Case, dan
penasihat umum di Revolusi LLC, sebuah firma pelaburan berpangkalan di
Washington DC,. Sebelum ini beliau pernah berkhidmat sebagai ketua kakitangan
untuk jawatan Naib Presiden Joe Biden, dan juga bekas Naib Presiden Al Gore.
Beliau yg meninggalkan pentadbiran Obama pada Januari 2011.
White House menganggap Klain menjadi pengurus yang
baik dari semasa beliau menyelia pengagihan dana dalam akta rangsangan, menurut
CNN. Beliau tidak mempunyai latar belakang yg luas dalam berurusan dgn
penjagaan kesihatan, tetapi pentadbiran views tsar Ebola sebagai sebagai
pengurus.
Klain is the president of Case Holdings, the holding
company for the business and philanthropic interests of former AOL chairman
Steve Case, and general counsel at Revolution LLC, a Washington, DC-based
investment firm. He previously served as the chief of staff for Vice President
Joe Biden, as well as for former Vice President Al Gore. He left the Obama administration
in January 2011.
The White House considers Klain to be a good manager
from his time overseeing the allocation of funds in the stimulus act, according
to CNN. He does not have any extensive background in dealing with health care,
but the administration views the Ebola czar as a managerial position.
